| Margot Staudte (Margit Carstensen) is a middle-class housewife who lives an ideal, comfortable existence with her husband Kurt (Ulrich Faulhaber) and daughter Bibi. Towards the end of her second pregnancy, however, she starts to experience moments of uncontrollable, undirected fear. Her anxiety grows and becomes more frequent. After giving birth to a son, she turns to drugs and alcohol, but nothing seems to alleviate her tempestuous nerves. |
